Vassilis X. Spiliotopoulos is a Greek author, entrepreneur, whose life bridges the realms of literature, history, and the human spirit. Over the course of his life, Vassilis has faced and overcome three separate cancer diagnoses – enduring surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with unwavering resilience. These profound experiences have not only shaped his perspective on existence, mortality, and transformation but also deeply inform the emotional and philosophical fabric of his writing.

Professionally, Vassilis has held senior roles in business management and strategic consulting. His business acumen, shaped by decades of analytical and interpersonal experience, gives his literary voice a unique clarity and grounding.

His debut novel, “Stowaway of a lifetime” («Λαθρεπιβάτης μιας ζωής»), is a historical epic set in Russia between 1881 and 1918. It follows the journey of a young boy from a poor rural village as he enters the aristocratic world, confronting the contradictions of identity, justice, power, and human dignity in a collapsing empire.

The novel has been praised in Greece for its stylistic quality and emotional depth. Tasos Sakellaropoulos, Head of the Historical Archives of the Benaki Museum, wrote:
